The last weeks have seen unprecedented numbers of whales off the South Coast as the population drifts south with calves in tow. Popular viewing spots along the coast have offered in-close spectacles of breaching, tail slapping and fin slapping with the young calves delighting all with their antics. The newly refurbished One Tree Point viewing platform at Tuross Head and the whale viewpoint at Dalmeny have more recently seen scenic bus loads arriving from as far afield as Tamworth.
