Preparing for Fire workshop


Durras residents are invited to attend the following workshop: 'Preparing for Fire in South Durras' Saturday 26th November, 9am – 1pm Venue: South Durras Rural Fire Brigade Station, Banyandah Street In this Bushfire Workshop you will: - hear from NSW Rural Fire Service, Crown Lands, Eurobodalla Shire Council, National Parks & Wildlife Service and Nature Conservation Council about bushfire risk management in your area - visit a local bushland area to discuss bushfire behaviour, risks, ecology and environmental considerations - assess local homes to talk about how to better protect your home from wildfire - have an opportunity to ask questions about your local area and how to prepare your property Who: All South Durras residents are most welcome to attend Cost: The workshop is free and includes morning tea and a BBQ lunch What to bring: The workshop is mostly outdoors and involves some walking so please bring a hat, sunscreen, any other weather protection, sturdy walking shoes and water.
