Amanda McLean workshop - Nov 5th


The South Coast Pastel Society Inc. is excited to host Amanda McLean as its next workshop tutor on Saturday 5th & Sunday 6th November, 2016.

Members of the Society were advised that her 2 day workshop would include subjects associated with “the elements of the landscape” and spaces were quick to fill up, however we do have 3 available spots for anyone interested in joining this workshop where Amanda will share her skill and experience in this chosen medium.

Amanda McLean who resides in Murrumbateman is a renowned Australian Pastel Artist and has worked extensively in the Canberra region over the last 25 years. Her painting focus has been landscapes and seascapes of the southern NSW region as well as studies of Lake Burley Griffin. Recognized for her sensitive interpretation to the Australian landscape her work captures the moods of the country and climate, whilst her capacity to portray the transition from water to sky creates a beautiful sense of space, depth and light.

Amanda has written extensively for the Australian Artist magazine and is described as one of the country’s leading pastellists’ and has taught both nationally and internationally. Her work’s can be found throughout the world.

The cost for the 2 day workshop is $170 (non- member) and $160 (member) and full payment will need to be made by 24th October. Held at the Batemans Bay Surf Lifesaving Club, George Bass Drive, Malua Bay from 9.30am – 4.30pm each day. Just a reminder: BEGINNERS WORKSHOPS will also be held on Saturday 12 November 1.00pm – 4.00pm by Jim Chaffey teaching “Still Life” and on November 20th 10 am – 1.00 pm by Warren Jones teaching “Seascape” at the Malua Bay Community Centre George Bass Drive. Cost for this will be $25 per session and all materials supplied by the Society . All interested parties should contact Nina on 0409037571
