2EAR FM Welcomes a New High Profile Presenter
"Disko" is back and doing what he does best, entertaining listeners via the radio! He is now on our local Community Radio Station 2EAR FM, which broadcasts from Moruya! Kathy Shields, Training Convener at 2EAR FM said that it is always a bonus as well as a pleasure to have someone with Pete Diskon's experience on board to offer their assistance and to share the load.
Pete "Disko" Diskon's brand new show format for Listeners to 2EAR FM can be heard on Mondays 1pm to 4pm, "The Eurobodalla Show". As well as great easy listening music across the board from the 60's to now, Disko will keep you informed of local events and happenings. If you have any events you would like him to give promotion to on air, email eafm@earfm.com or phone 4474 5445.
"Disko" has spent 40 years in commercial and community radio and TV sport, including on air at 2EC hosting the morning show for 8 years, retiring from full time employment in April 2016. Soon after he had a health issue which required major surgery.
"Hence there was a break of a few months and I’m on the long road to recovery" said Disko.
Pete comes to 2EAR FM with a wealth of knowledge, expertise and experience. His career in Radio has covered both Commercial and Community Radio Broadcasting. Amongst his jobs was 4 years as Manager and Program Director at CHY-FM in Coffs Harbour, a youth based community station covering the Coffs Coast.
Now he is wanting to put some of his broadcast experience back into the broadcast industry and sees Community Radio as a good opportunity to do this. With that in mind, he chose to volunteer his time to do a “magazine” based show weekly on 2EAR FM and also on Braidwood 2BRW FM on Wednesday from 10am till 1pm. As a volunteer he is hoping to be able to assist both stations in a number of areas.
" Once my health is back on track I will increase my involvement and I will be joining a CBAA training team in the new year" he added. Media Release
