The Batemans Bay Historical Society played its role in celebrating the 60th year of the Batemans Bridge through its photo archives. Saturday morning saw a display of the photos and collectables from the past that bought to life the Bateans Bay that was before a bridge was built. Preserving our history is so important if we are to understand who we are, and where we have come from. The volunteers at the Old Courthouse Museum in Batemans Bay are doing an amazing job reminding people of so many aspect of the region's past. The Society, through the Museum, is the storehouse of our community's history. The Society is recognised as a key community cultural resource and visitor attraction through development, maintenance and promotion of the Old Courthouse Museum and its Collections. Federal member for Gilmore enjoyed a tour of the museum recently and advised the volunteers of the Federal Grant funds that are available for community organisations. Museum launches new fundraising drive for 2016-17 financial year In order to cover funding for our planned maintenance and development costs for the current financial year, we are requesting your assistance to help us achieve a target of $10,000.
