Tuross dunnies get a lick of paint by volunteers

International Volunteers Day in Tuross Head. Members of the Tuross Head Progress Association, Tuross Head Bushfire Brigade, Tuross Marine Rescue and the Tuross Head Men's Shed took up their paint brushes and gave the toilet blocks at Coila and Main beach a new coat of paint. There has been recent outcry that the toilet blocks have slipped below satisfactory. With the busy tourist season approaching John Tilbrook, vice president of the THPA organised a working bee to paint both in and out of the Main Beach block and the internal walls of the Coila block. Many thanks to Council for supplying the paint, the brushes, the rollers and the permission for the assembled volunteers to enjoy a day of painting. It was noted that the toilet blocks are still very old with Coila Beach block in much poorer condition than at first believed. The doors are all but falling apart and the cisterns and seats are institutional. With a coat of paint however the blocks do look far more inviting. Thanks to Council officer Dave for his help in the project.
