Council and volunteers have now stacked two piles of flood driftwood ready for the RFS to light on Monday morning (winds and weather permitting) Larger logs have been placed along the dune line and will not be burnt.
The beach has been pretty well emu-picked clean of smaller sticks and it looks a treat.
Thanks goes to the Tuross Head Progress Association and the many folks in the Tuross Head community who lobbied Council and told them that the beach needed to be at its best for the upcoming summer season.
The Tuross Head Business Owners Association have made it very clear to Council that the financial livelihoods of over 100 local Tuross businesses and the 150+ holiday homes are reliant on the summer trading period and on Council's continued funding of the annual Beach Patrol, the dredging of the boatramp to provide satisfactory access to Tuross Lake for fishers and the removal of the debris from the beach.
The Tuross Head community representatives thank Eurobodalla Council for the cleanup of the beach and for recently providing locals on International Volunteers Day with cans of paint and equipment to spruce up the Coila and Main Beach toilet blocks.
