Update - Eurobodalla Community Bank© Project
Residents of Eurobodalla have pledged a massive $638,000 towards the creation of a locally owned company to run a Community Bank©.
The end of the temporary premises arrangement for our Information Centre in Queen Street in Moruya provides an appropriate time to keep the community up to date with the status of our campaign.
In the last 15 months, hundreds of residents of Eurobodalla have demonstrated their support for the creation of a local Community Bank©. This is a great achievement, but, unfortunately, it does not take us over the line with Bendigo Bank to go to the next step towards a full-blown branch in Moruya as we needed to reach the $900,000 mark.
As we did right from the start, we still absolutely believe our Shire needs a Community Bank©, and your pledges show you believe so as well. Therefore we have started discussions with Bendigo Bank to examine various options that are also available; our negotiations will resume after the Christmas break, and we’ll keep you informed of the progress.
