Harrisons Horse Pet and Rural Moruya has now joined the CRT group CRT (Combined Rural Traders) was formed in 1970 at the Canobolas Hotel in Orange, New South Wales, by a small group of locals determined to get a better deal for the region’s independent rural retailers and their farming customers. Today, that original member base of six has evolved into Australia’s largest group of independent rural retailers with over 300 stores servicing all major sectors of the rural industry. With those numbers comes a strong group buying power that benefits both primary producers and domestic consumers. Sue and Graham told the Beagle that they decided to join the group as it would afford their clients better deals, better buys and more product variety. There has been a noticeable gap in CRT outlets along the South Coast between Milton to the north and Bega to the south. Eurobodalla residents, exposed to the extensive and effective CRT advertising had, until now, little chance of gaining access to the specials, discounts and variety of product without considerable travel. This is indeed a coup for Moruya and for the Eurobodalla in being given recognition by a national, agriculturally focused, company.
