Following on from the many complaints received from Tuross residents of cars coming down Allenby Road and cutting across the Beach Street intersection on their way to the shops or Boulevarde the Tuross Head progress Association raised a customer service request (CSR) in November for Council to have clear white lines painted so at least offending drivers have something to "drive around" and are reminded not to cut the corner. The give-way sign and line also are there to remind drivers coming out of Beach Street to do exactly that - GIVE WAY, as there have been many near misses when cars have just turned left to go up Allenby and haven't seen a car approaching from their right. The THPA wishes to extend its thanks to Council, the Eurobodalla Traffic & Safety Committee and the ESC work crews for their prompt action in assessing their request for a Give Way sign to be installed and road line marking at the T intersection of Allenby Road and Beach Street.
The ESC work crew completed the task today and this traffic safety measure should reduce the prevalence of cars cutting the corner on the wrong side of the road. Pictured below is the completed work. (Photo by John Tilbrook)
