Bay Theatre Players present "Blythe Spirit" in April

Like the idea of stepping back into the past for a couple of hours?

Then have a think about tickets for Bay Theatre Players’ production of ‘Blithe Spirit’, which will open in April at the Playhouse in Gregory Street, Batemans Bay.

Tickets will be available from Bargain Box, Batemans Bay (4472 5984) from 13 March, but you will need to get in quick. There are only eight performances, from 9-29 April. One of them will be a matinee on Easter Saturday so if you have visitors who would like to join you back in the 1930s that might be a good performance to come and see.

Director, Kath Joyce, regards the play as a modern classic. She says: ‘I think our Bay Area audiences will enjoy the lovely period costumes and furnishings’.

The play was first seen in London’s West End in 1941, where it set a new long-run record for non-musical British plays of 1,997 performances. It also did well on Broadway later that year, running for 657 performances.
