Dear Beagle Editor, Last Thursday the Council once more had a community workshop canvassing community views for the future. There were some excellent points there and clear interests from the community, but it was clear only a narrow section of the community was represented. This is an ongoing issue, as we know. One simple strategy may be that council put all their notices in the free Independent paper, rather than /or as well as, in the Bay Post. Council would get a wider coverage of their intents and notices in this way and would eliminate some issues of discrimination. I hope Council will find this a practical, simple and economic idea and one to act on immediately. We also look forward to some clear goals and, critically, criteria to measure them by or (much of) the community will once again feel that we have had the opportunity to speak, but it is of little import to any outcomes. cheers Dr Sue Mackenzie
