Instagram photo competition showcases Eurobodalla

The winners of Eurobodalla Council’s #myeurobodalla photo competition have been announced.

Council ran the Instagram competition to provide a fun way for residents to get involved in the review of the Community Strategic Plan, asking people to share what they love about Eurobodalla using the hashtag #myeurobodalla.

The campaign ran throughout December and January with more than 700 entries from residents and visitors using the popular hashtag. On offer was the chance to win one of four prizes from local businesses.

Eurobodalla Mayor Liz Innes says Council was impressed with the level of engagement and participation from the community.

“It was fabulous to see all the beautiful images that highlight what it is we value as a community.

“My pick was the little girl heading down the beach track. This captures youthful fun, a sense of adventure and the natural beauty of our Shire.”

“The sunset beach photo with the driftwood sticks is also a favourite of mine as it typifies this summer, with driftwood sculptures and children building stick tepees on our local beaches.”

Council partnered with local businesses The Rivermouth Café, Region X Kayak tours, Single Fin Gypsy and Downward Dog Co Café to run the competition.

The four winners, chosen by the Mayor and Councillors from a shortlist are:

@bronte.enright - ‘follow the leader’ | Prize: Half day sea kayak tour for two from Region X

@joannelemon8 - ‘Surfside’ | Prize: $100 voucher from Rivermouth General Store, Tomakin

@kaydo777 - ‘another ludicrous day in Narooma’ | Prize: Single Fin Gypsy tee and camp mug

@jacq308 - ‘our beautiful #batemansbay at sunrise’ | Prize: $50 voucher from Downward Dog Co Café, Bodalla

Use of #myeurobodalla continues on Instagram with a display of people, places, cafes and activities showcasing what the community loves about Eurobodalla.
