Tuross Head Floral Art and Garden Group held a very successful meeting at Kyla Hall on Saturday 4th March. Our guest speaker Beris Jenkins provided a very interesting insight into the life of a volunteer with WIRES helping to care for native animals and birds who have come to harm. Beris explained what is involved with looking after joeys including feeding them 6 times a day (including a 2 a.m. feed) for several months and then nurturing them until they are able to be released into the wild. Club member Janet Jones added her comments about her experiences with WIRES looking after injured birds. We were very happy to welcome several new members at the meeting.
