Tuross Flathead and Bream comp a huge success

Another successful catch and release flathead and bream tournament held over the weekend in Tuross Head with over 250 entrants and heaps of volunteers! The weekend offered exceptional weather, much to the appreciation of many of the anglers who came from inland for a weekend holiday on the coast with their families. As always there were great prizes, made all the more possible via the generous support by our sponsors; From our major Motor Guide down to our own local Tuross head busineses

It was a privileged to host the Motor Guide representative, up from Melbourne, who attended this year's event to present the prize.

Some 46 THFC members/children are off to Wallaga Lake this weekend to enjoy a well deseved relaxing four days. The majority of these members were behind the successful running of the F&BT. A job well done and everyone had a great time. For those who attended ... the results are available here or for the full spreadsheet head over to the website http://wp.me/P6x9Uh-Ob Every year the tournament committee think long and hard as to the worthy recipient of our fundraising. They especially look for a group that benefits our own community. Last year they were really pleased to provide a significant donation to Careflight, an organisation that certainly aids our community. This year they have chosen the Moruya Lifesaving Club Special Nipper program. The community rely on Moruya Lifesavers during our peak periods to provide coverage for our beaches. The THFC admires their commitment to members of the community that need a little extra attention and patience but who still want to be involved. The THFC committee respect an organisation that accepts all comers and respects each member's ability. Moruya Surf-lifesaving club is an inclusive and welcoming club, which provides facilities, equipment and volunteers to assist people access the beach who may have Additional Needs or disability. Special Nippers is a beach program run every Saturday in the first term of each year. The program also caters for young people who have Additional Needs, and focuses on each person’s ability. Enjoyment, fun and individual achievement are the focus of the program for everyone involved. Volunteers are integral to the successful running of the Special Nippers program.
