Next Saturday, March 25th, a cheque for $1000 will be presented by Tuross Head Fishing Club to the Moruya Surf Lifesaving Club for development and assistance of the "Special nippers" - those children with special needs
Max Castle of the Tuross Head Fishing Club commented today "I have previously attended one of their events and they are great kids and they get so excited being taken out for a swim/fish/outing! The THFC financial contribution is not significant however we realise that every buck helps - and our need is to focus on the kids ". "The THCF have members in the Surf Life Saving Club who provide support on a regular basis to these kids!" "The fishing club identified this charity prior to the running of our recent Fathead and Bream Tournament which attracted over 250 entries and provided significant financial support back to the Tuross Head community, the Tuross Head Country Club and to many of the local business community in Tuross who were also event sponsors". "The Tuross Head Country Club fed over 300 meals on the Saturday night which is a big achievement (restricted because of room). The club has identified that they need to consider the longer term which could accept 500 entries as the town as the capacity for such a scale in its available accommodation. We achieved our entry limit weeks before closing time and had to refuse entries". The Tuross Head Fishing Club would like to thank the major sponsor and the local business who supported this event (and have done so for many years). It is the biggest annual event in Tuross Head.
The handing over of the donation to the Moruya Surf Lifesaving Club will be on Saturday between 11.30 - to 12.30 at the Moruya Surf Club - Moruya South Head
A BBQ will be available.
