The Broulee-Moruya Giants are overflowing with talent in the coaching department for their 2017 SCAFL campaigns.

Julian Nimmo takes the reins of the U/11’s, last year’s grand finalists, hoping to take the team one step better in 2017. Julian has played football in Lockhart, Turvey Park, and played and coached at Narooma and Bermagui. As well as filling a spot in the club’s Development Grade team Julian loves introducing the Australian game to new players. His philosophy as a junior coach is team fun and teaching the basic skills of the game.
The U/13’s will be coached by Andrew Paslow. Hailing from Urana near Wagga in the Riverina, ‘Pas’ has played football for the Wagga Tigers and is looking forward to developing the skills and game knowledge of the mid-age juniors. His coaching concentrates on skills and teamwork.
The U/16s will be coached by Boyd Brennan who has had great success in coaching the Moruya High School Aussie Rules team. Boyd has played football for Assumption College Killmore and Wycheproof-Narraport and will be concentrating on skills and strategies to take mid age juniors one step further towards senior football.
The women’s coach will be Kim Preston, hailing from Ardlethan in the Riverina. Kim has played football for Ardlethan, CSU Wagga, and Leeton, and was involved in the NSW High Schools Aussie Rules competition for many years, most recently as the coach of the Narooma High Aussie Rules team and the coach of the 2016 BMG Women’s team. Kim is looking to concentrate on developing the skills base of the female players.
Graham Wise takes the reins as the inaugural coach of the BMG Development Grade (DG) team. Graham’s experience playing football for Belconnen Magpies will stand him in good stead for keeping control of the BMG team of legends known as ‘The Uncoachables’. Mixing SCAFL umpiring duties with coaching and playing DG will keep Graham’s Saturdays pretty busy but, as Graham says, “with 17 assistant coaches the job will be easy, I’ll just have to point at a whiteboard and shout”. DG is on the lookout for more mature age players and/or pre-senior level young fellas to launch the club’s inaugural year. Just come down to training!
Training is at Gundary Oval on Thursday evenings. Juniors from 4.30pm to 6.00pm, DG and Women’s teams 6.00pm-7.00pm.
