The annual Tilba Easter Festival held each year on Easter Saturday is in full production mode and is looking incredible with a host of new events to add to all the old favourites. The Tilba Easter Festival is a unique festival, with entertainment & activities to suit all tastes, including Town Criers, hilarious street games with prizes, live music on 4 different stages, roaming street performers.

There is a producers hall showcasing local produce, market stalls & delicious food throughout the day. This all happens in the magical setting of Central Tilba’s main street and its 100 year old, colourful weather board buildings. Easter Saturday is the one day each year when Bate Street is closed to traffic and open to a huge array of culture and festivities. A modest donation ($10-adults, Free Entry for kids 2-16) covers all the entertainment, all day long!
The festival is proud to be a volunteer non-profit community project, completely free of corporate sponsorship, and dedicated to a day of fun for everyone who attends. There will be stilt walkers, buskers, street theatre and a continuous reptile awareness show. There will be Jumping castles, airbrush tattoos & face painting. The organisers had so much fun in the FOOD HALL last year at the festival that they have decided to do it all over again! From midday onwards, they will have back-to-back cooking demonstrations from our local culinary heroes, some River Cottage Australia faces, representatives of the Tilba CWA and a baking extraordinaire who has even been a guest judge on MASTERCHEF.
And MUSIC - lots of live music !! Brazilian Drummers RAI DE SOL will be playing in the parade and throughout the day. KATY CALLAGHAN - a finalist in the Australian Songwriters Association Folk Category - and a much loved local singer, will be entertaining again at the Tilba Easter Festival this year. LATVIAN INDEPENDENCE DAY - Back again after a hugely popular performance last year! COREY LEGGE! Don't miss this up and coming superstar at the Tilba Easter Festival this year!! Make sure you're there for his performance on the Gold Rush Stage at 1.30pm. As heard on TRIPLE J UNEARTHED, the Festival welcomes BROTHER BE to the GULAGA stage at 12.30pm. And SOUL STORIES will be back again this year with their acoustic rock and soul music. Don't miss their performance! Along with GREAT ZAMBONI COMEDY MAGICIAN performing in one of the halls. It's an act that the kids will absolutely LOVE. Contests: This year sees the addition of a Donut eating contest and a Cheese Rolling Competition to add to everyone's favourite, the treacherous Egg Throwing Championship along with the Bushies Boot Throwing Contest.
And then ON EASTER SUNDAY EASTER EGG EGGSTRAVAGANZA!! Not only is Central Tilba celebrating Easter Saturday with the Tilba Easter Festival this year - they are also holding the BIGGEST EASTER EGG GIVEAWAY EVER on EASTER SUNDAY! After spending a wonderful day at the Tilba Easter Festival on Saturday, April 15th they have decided to continue our Easter celebration by giving away THOUSANDS of free Easter eggs the next day - every single shop on Bate street will be giving away FREE EASTER EGGS! The Easter bunny will be wandering the streets over the weekend.
