Candelo Village Festival will be presenting an impressive line-up at the revamped festival 21-23 April.
One of Australia’s most respected musicians, Vince Jones will perform with an opening set by all-girl band Pheno. Vince is a vocalist and trumpeter who plays music that touches the hearts through its subtlety and honesty. Liz Stringer, currently one of Australia’s most sought after acts, rolls into town for her first ever show in Candelo, fresh from an international tour promoting her new album All the Bridges. Liz will be performing on Sunday afternoon at the Candelo Village Festival, with support act Tate Sheridan.
Albury band The Northern Folk have rapidly taken the country by storm with their infectious energy and charismatic delivery of folk/pop/stomp/rock. Soaring saxes, roaring brass, bashful bass, massive vocals, with eight part harmonies in tow will wow the crowd on Sunday evening and get the Town Hall jumping for the festival closing party.
The Candelo Park will play host to a wide variety of free, family-friendly entertainment including live music, dance and circus all weekend.
On Saturday from 10 am, Kate Burke will take a selected group of South East thinkers, movers and shakers on journey of painting a picture of Candelo in years to come. Warren Foster will welcome to country with a smoking ceremony followed by a dance display from the Gulaga Dancers. Indigenous musicians from our region, presented by South East Arts, will also perform including Gabadoo, Takeisha Thomas, Alison Walker and the kids of Wallaga Lake Koori Village.
The Candelo Park will be alive with local food, local artisans and locally made music live on stage with the Candelo Songwriters. Rhys ‘The Trickster’ Davies will host an afternoon variety show called The Caravan of Wonders featuring some of the South East’s finest young talent.
On Saturday afternoon The Candelo Blues club will host a blues showcase at the Candelo Hotel. This free event will feature the popular The Chris Harland Band and The Jackson Fisher Band.
If that is not enough, you can come kick around in the park for the village games with The Funhouse team on Sunday Morning followed by a circus skills master class with The Trickster.
All events in the park and around town are free for the public to attend. Town Hall events require a ticket. Camping is available on site.
