Several of the Elected Eurobodalla Shire Councillors are, or have been, claiming they are not aware of what’s been going on with the Huntfest debacle, indicating they are not aware of expenditure’s associated with claims council has employed lawyers to act on behalf of the Council or, if you like, the shires residents, who are paying for the mess created by councillors and assisted council staff, with the use of public lands under the control of council to hold an event.
It’s unbelievable to even imagine our elected councillors are saying they don’t know what’s going on with the mess they are involved in, but even worse, all costs associated with it. What’s even more disturbing is they have been involved in pre budget discussions and workshops recently deciding on how the shire's residents money will be used! That makes it even more difficult to believe they don’t know what’s going on in relation to the cost associated with the Huntfest issue by, it now seems, pig headed councillors and their advisers on the matter. It’s clear the Audit Committee is being supplied with very selective information. The councillors appointed to the audit committee need to do some public explaining !
It’s also clear the recent approved 20%+ rate increase wasn’t necessary and needs to be reviewed downwards, simply because the money is being wasted. It could be likened to Council having a crock of gold slush fund to do as they wish with in my opinion.
