The Beagle Editor,
Councils all over the state are always attempting to invent new ways of bolstering their income streams. It seems recently the State Governments established, Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal ( IPART ) has been asked to be involved with looking at the ways Council Rates are Levied in NSW. They’ve been looking at ways of changing the present system presumably so Local NSW Councils can charge and collect more of the Local Councils residents money. Most likely this is something many wouldn’t be aware of, but it’s a matter our local councillors should be telling the shires residents about immediately.
Changes to the revenue collecting system wouldn’t be being sought unless Councils wanted to collect more of the peoples money, would they ?
