Results for the day were as follows: 1st: Barry Hoban with a nett 30 strokes. 2nd: Kay McLeod on 33 on count back. 3rd: Greg Ware, also on 33. Ball or Chocolate: Steve Johnston on 33, Greg Thornton and Denis Benger on 34, Teri Swanbury, Steve Swanbury and Les Johanson on 35, Bruce Martin, John Cox and Ken Brown on 36. The Bradman's award was won by Ian Wratten. The putting competition was shared by two players, Greg Smith and Ken Brown, with both players scoring exactly the same number of putts on each of the nine holes played. Nearest the Pins: 4th: Greg Thornton from Des Jackson on the toss of a coin after both players holed out for two. 6th: John Cox. Ladies 7th: Kay McLeod (in the hole). Men's 7th: Andrew Gordon. The Accuracy award was won this week by Robert McKirdy.
Veteran Golf Results Wednesday May 10
Under sunny skies a good field of 60 players took to the course for this morning's 2 Person Ambrose event. Results on the morning were as follows: 1st: The team of Derek Hoare and Neil Grimley on 31.75. 2nd: Robert McKirdy and Michael Kermode on 32.75 on count back. 3rd: Greg Ware and Kevin Dukes also on 32.75. Ball or Chocolate: Bruce Martin and Margaret Downey, together with Ken Brown and Solveig Olsson on 33.5, Gus Alameddine and Allen Gannon, and the team of Kathy and Stephen Crossling on 34, followed by the husband and wife pairing of Ian and Jeanette Miller on 34.25 and finally Tim Skinner and David Williams on 34.75. The Bradman's award went to a pair of unhappy golfers Teri and Steve Swanbury. Nearest the Pins: 4th: Derek Hoare. 6th: Greg Smith. Ladies 7th: Gail Rogers (in the hole). Men's 7th: Michael Kermode (in the hole). Bruse Martin won the Accuracy award for a long, straight drive alongside the string line. Next week's game is a Stableford event, also being the third and final round of the Elaine Jennings trophy for lady players. Registration is from 7.45am in the downstairs sports bar area with a shotgun start at 8.30am.
