More than 550 people have so far taken advantage of Roads and Maritime Services’ new digital solution which streamlines medical assessments for driver licences. A Roads and Maritime spokesperson said HealthLink was launched in early March to streamline the licence process for motorists who have to submit medical assessments each year. “The initiative will save time and paperwork for the 450,000 NSW drivers who submit medical assessments each year via post or in person at a registry or service centre.” “It also means medical cases can be reviewed a lot faster, as the ‘Fitness to Drive’ form is electronically submitted to Roads and Maritime for immediate review.” Medical practitioners at more than than 2,000 sites across NSW have access to the medical assessment form via their electronic clinical software.
