As part of the 2017 Eurobodalla River of Art, the South Coast Music Society will present its second concert for 2017 on Sunday 28 May at 3.00 pm in St Bernard’s Church, Batehaven. The concert will be given by the Streeton Trio - three young Australian musicians – Emma Jardine (violin), Umberto Clerici (cello) and Benjamin Kopp (piano).
The Trio, named after the Australian impressionist painter, Sir Arthur Streeton, has received great acclaim for performances in international venues and have studied intensively with the world’s leading musicians. They were a winner in the 2011 Musica Viva Chamber Music Competition and have won scholarships from Australia Council for the Arts, Arts Victoria and Ian Potter Cultural Trust as well as playing overseas. They have released four CDS which have been received with much enthusiasm.
The trio will be performing works by Haydn, Mendelssohn and Smetana. A Q and A will be held after the performance.
Tickets for the concert are available at the door (cash) or online at www.southcoastmusicsociety.com. Adults’ tickets will be $35; members and pensioners $30. In 2017, adults accompanying school student/s will be admitted free in accordance with the South Coast Music Society’s aim of encouraging the love of fine music in young people.
