In continuing its commitment and encouragement of the arts in the Eurobodalla Shire, the South Coast Pastel Society is again offering a series of beginner’s/intermediate pastel workshops which promises to teach new ways of achieving new techniques in the pastel art.
As the classes are limited to 6 to ensure participants receive adequate attention and therefore registration is essential for these cost effective classes. All materials are supplied and each workshop will cost $25 per person and will be held at the Batemans Bay Surf Lifesaving Club, George Bass Drive, Malua Bay. All the participant needs to bring is an apron/wear old clothes, a face washer, a notebook, an easel if you have one, a willingness to experiment, learn and have fun.
Commencing on Saturday, 3rd June, at 9.30 am and finishing at 12.30pm our accomplished President and award winning artist, Lyn Woolridge will introduce beginners to techniques which will help capture the amazing reflections in seascapes in the water and on the wet sand. Lyn Woolridge is a gifted and skilled pastel artist and her works’ feature many local beach scenes, a selection of which can be found at “By the Beach” café. As a long standing member Lyn’s class should not be missed.
Following on from Lyn will be Jim Chaffey who will teach “Water in a Jug” in the Still life class which will be held on July 15, 2017.
August 12, 2017 Nina Poulton will guide you through a “Modern Pastel on Canvas” workshop with the final workshop “Seascapes” on September 10, 2017 conducted by Warren Jones. All details can be found on our website
