Hi Editor No doubt, when the next Council meeting comes to pass on 25 July, there will be a notice of motion to excuse my presence from the Council meeting that I missed on 27 June, and seeking my exemption from the meeting of 25 July and subsequent meetings on 8 August, and as a contingency, perhaps 12 September. This last one I expect to attend but can't guarantee. I attended a medical appointment on 27 June in Canberra, missing a council meeting and am now aware that I will be undergoing a 7 week course of radiation therapy in Canberra, starting on 13 July. This is something that hundreds of people in our community, be they young/old, male/female, have to deal with at any particular time, when the 'cancer' word is mentioned. I am publicising this in the interest of being transparent about my absence and to alert residents/ratepayers that, for the time being, there will be only 7 out of 9 councillors able to vote on anything that comes before Council during those future meetings. And yes, I'll be available via phone/text/email through this period and expect to be able to answer all communications. And by the way, I am cool with this irritating thing and "I'll Be Back". :-) Cheers, Clr Pat McGinlay
