The Eurocoast Triathlon Club will hold its presentation night on Saturday 29 July, starting at 6.30pm at the Starfish Deli at Batemans Bay.
The club will be celebrating its third year of competition, after being formed in 2014, to support triathletes of all levels, and at all distances, from Super Sprint distance (200m swim, 8km bike, 2km run) up to Ironman distance (3.8km swim, 180km bike, 42.2km run).
To say that the members of the club have achieved outstanding results would be an understatement. Richard Jeffrey won the World Cross Triathlon title at Crackenback in November, by a margin of almost 10 minutes.
Daniel Lloyd-Jones competed in the ITU World Sprint Triathlon championship as an Australian representative in Mexico, placing 16th overall, and the best places Australian finisher.
Other international efforts consisted of Ivo Ahlquist competing in a race in Germany on his holidays, and Peter Cox completed a difficult Ironman race in New Zealand.
Closer to home, Richard Jeffrey, and wife Sally, each won a number of races in their age category. Rebecca Shepheard successfully competed in Ironman Australia at Port Macquarie in May, becoming the first female to complete the Ironman distance as a member of the club.
Numerous other members have achieved both personal bests, and have been place getters in various NSW events. Other members have just competed, challenging themselves in this addictive sport.
Any inquiries in relation to the club, or attending the presentation night, should be forwarded to club secretary, Ray Davidson, via email to aztec@southernphone.com.au
