Truffle Central in Braidwood returns July 28th - 29th


The third annual mid-winter ‘Truffle Central’ event at Braidwood Central School will be held on the Saturday of the last weekend of July 2017. Once again Braidwood Central School will become ‘Truffle Central’ with a flurry of events to tempt your tastebuds and educate your culinary passions. This year, the Central School Gymnasium is again the venue for Saturday’s truffled food expo and farmers market featuring local produce kicking off from 8am. Braidwood Farmers Market, Garlicious Grown Black Garlic, Tarago Truffles and Wynlen House will be there.


Chef Christian Hauberg will once again travel to Braidwood to take part, working with school students to produce a range of truffle delicacies available for purchase for breakfast, brunch and lunch on Saturday. There will be the judging of an exciting truffled dessert competition (the finished deserts will be auctioned off) and a ‘guess the truffle’s weight’ competition. Friday July 28 -Members of the public can experience a field trip investigating native truffles ($40). For more details contact BCS on 4842 2249 Saturday July 29 – Food hall with farmers’ markets, with delicacies to eat and drink on sale prepared by BCS students and our school P&C. The Upper Shoalhaven Land Care group will be running native bee and pollination workshops in the TLS from 8.45am-3.30pm. Around town local restaurants and cafes will also be participating in the event with truffle meals.
