Batemans Bay Community Centre This presentation has been organised for U3A members
Dr Howard Brady is giving a presentation to U3A members and others on the climate debate on Saturday 22nd July at 10.00am at Batemans Bay Community Centre. This article is published for the wider community who might not be able to attend and are not familiar with Dr Brady and his views on Climate Change He “will be specifically talking at some stage re the sea level ideas of the Eurobodalla Shire Council”. This topic should be of special interest to many of the Shire whose property values have plummeted because of the over precautionary projection of future sea level rises made by the Shire Council. Dr Brady has retired to Canberra but spends much of his time at his holiday home at Culburra. Here he helped the local community prove that their coastline was advancing seawards since 1940 despite the slow sea level rise. The council, who had said otherwise, had to acknowledge that the rate payers were right.
Dr Howard Brady is a retired Australian Geologist who worked as an Antarctic Scientist, with four expeditions to Antarctica. During the late 1970s he worked on the Ross Ice Shelf in McMurdo Sound with significant discoveries. His book “Mirrors and Mazes”, a guide through the climate debate, is recommended.
He has also published scientific articles in periodicals such as :-
Journal of Glaciology
Nature Magazine
Science Magazine.
In 2011 Dr Brady was awarded the “Distinguished Alumnus Scientist of the Year’ by Northern Illinois University for contributions to climate research and to the community at large.
We urge you to attend so that we can learn some facts about our climate and we will not be easily mislead in the future.
