Parents and childhood educators can learn about the link between physical activity, food and children’s mental development at a free talk in Moruya this month.
Occupational therapist Elyssa Dix and dietitian Molly Mylot will present the Healthy Active Kids Forum, a fun, informative evening exploring children’s health.
Ms Dix will speak about the relationship between children’s cognitive ability and physical activity.
She will give advice on creating positive learning environments and how parents and educators can use everyday resources to carry out therapy in their own home.
Ms Mylot will speak about the role of food in children’s development, the difference between food allergies and intolerances and how to encourage children to eat new food.
Eurobodalla Council’s children’s services team is hosting the forum on Monday 24 July at the Eurobodalla Council Chambers, 89 Vulcan Street, Moruya, from 6pm-8.30pm.
Childcare is available however spaces are limited. To book your place, or for more information, please contact Council’s Family Day Care Coordinator Natalie Maxted on 02 4474 1338. Media Release
