With the prospect of a warmer morning for golf a good field of 50 players teed off for this morning's Par event.
Winners on the day were as follows:
1st: David Williams with a very good score of +5.
2nd: Graham Pratt on +4 on count back.
3rd: Bruce Ware also on +4.
Ball or Chocolate:
Noel Fletcher on +3, Sandra Hanlon on +2, Jennifer Gray, Andrew Gordon, Margaret Downey and Des Jackson all on +1, followed by Anna Heuston, Ray Downey, Gail Rogers and Allen Gannon, all players on square and after a 7 way count back was required to determine the last four placegetters.
Bradman Award:
A four way count back was required to determine the winner of this infamous award, but in the end Dennis Benger scraped home by a very small margin.
Nearest the Pins:
4th: Kevin Dukes and Ken Brown both holed out for two, but Ken won the bacon and eggs on the basis of a coin toss.
6th: Richard Kelly.
Ladies 7th: Ann Ware.
Men's 7th: Andrew Gordon (in the hole).
Accuracy:
Noel Downie was today's winner with a fine, long drive very close to the centre string line.
Next Week:
Next week's game is a Single Stableford event as well as a day when we remember the original founders of the Tuross Vets Golf sub club. Registration is from 7.45am in the downstairs sports bar area with a shotgun start at 8.30am. The game will be followed by the Annual General Meeting of the Vets sub club and election of office bearers for the 2017/18 playing year.
