Batemans Bay BMX Club will be hosting their 2017 BMX Open Event on Sunday 20th August 2017 With 350 entries from NSW, ACT, VIC and QLD the weekend will be jam packed with world class BMX racing. Sheridan Batistic of the Batemans Bay BMX Club told the Beagle "BMX riders between the ages of 5 years and 50+ will be taking part". "Bring the family to the track for a great day of fun. The races are exciting, the talent that will be there is enormous and being a spectator at an event like this is a great way to introduce young ones (and big kids) to the sport".

Both of these two brilliant BMX Pro Riders love coaching our future BMX superstars and are keen to race the Batemans Bay track on Sunday"
"Saturday afternoon will see Open Gates Practice for all riders from 3pm -5pm. "Australian BMX Olympian and 11 time Australian Elite Mens Champion, Luke Madill, will be hitting the Bay track on Sunday with fellow BMX Pro Riders --- 2017 Australian Elite Mens Champion and World Championships rider, Kai Sakakibara, 3 time Australian Elite Mens Champion and World Championships Rider, Alex Cameron, and World Championships Rider, Adam Carey, just to name a few! "Our little BMX buddy – 6 year old Sydney rider, Harley Bradshaw - will also be racing on Sunday! Harley recently competed at the 2017 World Championships in the USA and was named World #4 in his age group! "Batemans Bay BMX Club’s Canteen - “Berm Bites” – will have a delicious menu to keep you fuelled up for the weekend – including egg and bacon rolls for breaky, hamburgers, chicken burgers, fruit salads, dirt cups, sausages sandwiches, muesli yogurt cups and more! "There will also be a monster Club Raffle with over 40 prizes – including a framed, personally signed race jersey by Australian BMX Olympian and 2017 Australian Elite Womens Champion, Caroline Buchanan! "To quote our Fundraising Officer, Jaz Newell, “This raffle is insane!” "There will also be a Slushy Machine and Cake Stall to ensure an adequate sugar intake. "Need coffee for those early morning BMX starts? "The Fix" Coffee Van will be at our Open this Sunday brewing some great coffee for everyone. THEN Sunday is race day! Track Practice runs from 8am til 9:50am with racing at 10am sharp! Riders will race 3 motos and strive to make it through to the qualifying rounds to their age class final! There will also be some awesome Pro Shops to purchase all your BMX wants and needs!
