With a significant number of players out of town a smaller than normal field of 42 players teed off for this morning's Single Stableford event under what proved to be quite windy conditions. Results on the day were as follows:
1st: Solveig Olsson with a fine score of 23 points.
2nd: Greg Smith returning to form with 22.
3rd: Graham Heuston on 19 points after a five way count back.
Ball or Chocolate:
Stephen Crossling, Robin Green, Bruce Martin and Frank Pomfret all on 19 points, followed by Jeanette Miller on 18, and finally Noel Fletcher, Annette Manton and Paul Green on 17 points, again after a five way count back was required.
Bradman Award:
Andrew Gordon claimed the strong winds were responsible for his low scoring on the day as he took out this week's honours.
Nearest the Pins:
4th: Paul Pereira.
6th: Ian Miller.
Ladies 7th: Leonie Snodgrass.
Men's 7th: Ian Manton.
Accuracy Award:
Herb Muriwai blasted a long drive well down the fairway adjacent to the centre string line to take out today's award.
