Under clearer and warmer skies than last week a field of 51 players teed off for this morning's Stroke and Putts event, the game also being Round 1 of the Tuross Vets annual championships. Round 2 will be played on September 13. Results for today's game were as follows:
1st: Graham Heuston with a great nett score of 30.
2nd: Jennifer Grey on 33 after a three way count back.
3rd: Vets Captain Ian Miller also on 33.
Ball or Chocolate:
Rex Wood (the unfortunate count back loser) on 33, followed by Des Jackson, Tim Starr, Les Johanson, Mike Birks, Jeanette Miller and Ian Manton all on 34, and finally Bruce Ware, Peg Nevett, Herb Muriwai, Greg Ware and Dave Munro on 35.
Putts:
Herb Muriwai won the day's putting competition with a total of 12 putts for the 9 holes including a chip in on the second hole.
Bradman Award:
Annette Manton having been punished by the handicapper for recent successes won today's award.

4th: Greg Ware, in the hole.
6th: Des Jackson.
Ladies 7th: Kay McLeod, in the hole.
Men's 7th: Greg Smith.
