Eurobodalla Councillors unanimously endorsed the development of a regional aquatic centre

Eurobodalla Councillors today unanimously endorsed the development of a regional aquatic centre, arts and cultural facility in Batemans Bay.

During Public Forum there were speakers asking Council to consider a 50m pool rather than a 25m and other speakers wishing to ensure that Councillors were well aware of the financial burdens of such a complex covering running costs, depreciation and loan burdens. One speaker also raised the issue of a need for whole of CBD planning in light of a new Batemans Bay bridge being proposed.

The project consultants were then asked a series of questions by councillors prior to their vote to pursue grant funding to build the facility.

Mayor Liz Innes explains to outcome of the vote in the Facebook video below:

NOTE: Comments were TRIALED - in the end it failed as humans will be humans and it turned into a pile of merde; only contributed to by just a handful who did little to add to the conversation of the issue at hand. Anyone who would like to contribute an opinion are encouraged to send in a Letter to the Editor where it might be considered for publication
