Grants promote healthy and active community

Eurobodalla Council’s annual Healthy Communities and Seniors Week Grants are now open.

Grants of up to $500 are available to non-profit community groups who are prepared to take the lead in running activities or developing projects that help promote a healthy and active community.

Council’s Director of Community, Arts and Recreation Kathy Arthur said that in previous years, groups have been funded for events like fitness classes, a tennis tournament, seniors’ lunches, and day trips to events.

“The grants aim to foster community initiatives that will improve the health and wellbeing of people in Eurobodalla,” Ms Arthur said.

“We’re happy to consider imaginative suggestions as well as the more standard events that continue to keep our community active and engaged.”

To be eligible for a grant, a group must be either incorporated or show that it is a bona fide Eurobodalla-based community group.

For the first time this year all applications must be submitted electronically via a link on Council’s website http://www.esc.nsw.gov.au/inside-council/council/grants/healthy-communities-and-seniors-week

If assistance is required, please contact Council on 4474 1000. The closing date for applications is Wednesday 4 October 2017.
