Batemans Bay Sailing Club will be holding an Open Sailing Forum on Saturday September 16th. This will be held at the Catalina Country Club from 10am to 12noon. The club is particularly keen to get people along who may have an interest in sailing but are not active members of the club. This includes people who may have been sailing earlier in their lives and want to become involved again, and people who may have a yacht in the marina or on a mooring in the river and would prefer to use it more often. Basically anyone who might like to join the club should come along.
Although the club’s main focus is on keelboat racing, it also has a cruising program and a regular off the beach racing program for dinghies and catamarans at Coila Lake. There are plans in place to resurrect off the beach club races at Batemans Bay as well. Club representatives will be outlining what the club does now and seeking feedback on what it can do to get more members of the public to become involved. In addition Batemans Bay Marina management will give a presentation on maritime facilities in the Bay and the NSW Department of Industry will give an outline on plans to maintain the Clyde River opening over the coming years.
Anyone who can’t make it to the forum but would like to make a suggestion or leave some feedback can do so through the contact section of the Sailing Club website or by leaving a message on 04561 1977.
