Free Grief And Loss Information Evening - Moruya Sep 18th

Grief will touch us all at some time in our life, and often we are not prepared for how it will impact on us. Grief is a reaction to any form of loss. It encompasses a range of feelings from deep sadness to anger, and the process of adapting to a significant loss can vary dramatically from one person to another, depending on his or her background, beliefs, relationship to what was lost, and other factors. Southern NSW Local Health District in collaboration with the Canberra Grief Centre is hosting a free community information evening in Moruya on grief and loss for members of the public. The evening will be held 18 September, 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the Moruya Golf Club, Evans Street, Moruya. The sessions will cover: • What is grief and how can it affect us? • What causes us to grieve the way we do? • Understanding the difference between ‘healthy’ grieving and ‘unhealthy’ grieving. • How we can support ourselves and others who have experienced loss. For more information or to register, please email SNSWLHDPalliativeCareNetwork@health.nsw.gov.au or phone 0447 233 262 Media Release
