The Tuross Head Fishing Club (THFC) has been successful in applying for funding from the Rec Fishing Trust Fund (licence fees) to again hold a "GONE FISHING DAY "in Tuross on 1st October 2017. THFC is appreciative of DPI Fisheries allowing us to bring the event forward by two weeks this year to co-inside with along weekend, tourists and schools holidays!!
On this day "NO FISHING LICENCE IS NEEDED FOR ADULTS" Gone Fishing Day, endorsed by NSW DPI celebrates our love of fishing and encourage everyone to get out on the water. It doesn't matter if you haven't fished before or if you're the keenest of anglers, Gone Fishing Day is for everyone! The thrust of the event is to provide an opportunity to the community to try "a days fishing". The event is open to all ages, children and adults!
The day is "totally free" (thanks to fishers licence fees) and will include lunch, drinks, education tables, casting comp, jumping castle, disco and a lot more! Specific details of the day are now being finalised and will be provided to the The Beagle. A pamphlet is being designed for circulation to shops schools and media. Those interested should make a note of this date so you don't miss out! To assist with lunch catering please let the fishing club know if you are attending.
