SAGE Veggies for All project moves into the next phase

SAGE Veggies for All project moves into the next phase - installation of garden beds

Friday 15 September was the start of the big task of installing above ground veggie beds in the backyards of concession cards holders who attended the first two workshops. After collecting the high quality veggie mix from D & A Excavators just outside Bodalla, the team (Kathryn and Thomas) headed down to Narooma to install two beds at the home of Wendy and Dick. Because Heather did not have room for her bed Wendy volunteered to host her bed so that they could garden together. We shared a wonderful cup of tea and bickies at the end.

In the afternoon the team headed to Terry's place at Malua Bay. With help from Terry, Jess and their son, the team were able to install the bed in about half an hour.

After a wonderful home made ginger beer, Terry, a SAGE volunteer, assisted the team with installing a garden bed at Meggs place at Mossy Point.

We learnt the importance of having a ramp to assist with getting the veggie mix into the beds, and really appreciated the help from those receiving the beds.

The next cluster of garden bed installs will take place on Friday 29 September.

All of this is only possible thanks to the generosity of IMB Banks Community Foundation and Bunnings

NOTE: Comments were TRIALED - in the end it failed as humans will be humans and it turned into a pile of merde; only contributed to by just a handful who did little to add to the conversation of the issue at hand.
