Park for longer in Batemans Bay CBD

Changes to timed parking in the Batemans Bay CBD came into effect last Friday, giving shoppers more time to park at key points around the town and improving parking turnover in other areas.

The changes will see 30-minute parking on Clyde Street and north Orient Street become one-hour parking. The No Stopping zone where Orient Street becomes Old Princes Highway will change to one-hour parking, and a section of off-street parking at the Visitors Centre will change to one-hour parking.

To improve parking turnover, a section of the three-hour parking zone in the Perry Street carpark will become one-hour parking, and the three-hour parking in Museum Place will change to one-hour parking.

Timed parking in Council-owned car parks around town remains the same, from 8.30am to 6.00pm Monday to Friday, and 8.30am to 12.30pm Saturday. Drivers should check signage for time limits within these hours.

The parking changes follow a survey of business owners and community members earlier this year. Councillors endorsed the recommended changes at Tuesday’s council meeting.
