On Sunday October 29th Batemans Bay Sailing Club will be holding a yachting safety seminar at the BBSC Clubhouse at Hanging Rock. Gosford Sailing Club sailing manager Peter Walsh will be coming down to present this seminar. Peter is a qualified sailing instructor who previously ran a sailing school at Batemans Bay. The talk will focus on a number of relevant topics including Digital Selective Calling VHF radios, use of safety flares including a practical demonstration when everyone will have a chance to have a go and man overboard (MOB) techniques. The seminar will include a trip on the river on a BBSC yacht to practice MOB retrieval.
The seminar will be free to BBSC members and $25 for non members, although non members could join the club as a social member for $25 before the seminar starts. The seminar will run from 10am through to around 2pm. For further information contact Lachlan Brown (lachlantbrown@gmail.com).
