The Eurocoast Triathlon Club was represented at the second annual Long Course Weekend (LCW) Triathlon Festival held at Jervis Bay. In a departure from the traditional triathlon event, the Swim, Bike and Run legs were held on consecutive days. Athletes could select between Sprint, Olympic, Half Ironman and full Ironman distances, and could switch between distances for individual disciplines. Nicole Rattenbury returned to Ironman distance for each discipline, and completed the 3.8km swim in 1:25, the 180km bike leg in 7:14, and the marathon distance run of 42.2km in 4:55. She placed 4 th and 5 th in her age group in the individual legs, and recorded a total time of 13:36:01 to place her 4 th overall in her age group. Stephen Phipps has moved up to the half Ironman distance, and completed the 1.9km swim in 39:49 (4 th place), the 90km bike ride in 3:42:13 (4 th place) and the half marathon distance of 21.1km in 2:16:12 to place 3 rd . Stephen was involved in a race long tussle with another runner and finally got in front of him near the finish line to beat him by 9 seconds.
