The strong southerly winds that sent the spray across the top of Mossy Point did not stop the 53 people from contesting Wednesday’s Broulee run/walk.
In the 2 kilometres Tayah Boyd, Julianne Domeny and Trish Eccles did personal best times. In the 5 kilometres Andrew McPherson, Gary Matthews and Steve Phipps improved their times.
We welcomed Max Kidd and Hanna Wood to their first run with the group. Hanna was convinced to come by her friend Shevaun Ey, who comes from a well-known Canberra running family. Her father will contest his 95th marathon in New Zealand in the coming weeks.
The highlight of the night was the impressive run by Andrew McPherson, who missed breaking the 20 minutes mark in the 5 kilometres by 4 seconds. This is an outstanding effort given the adverse conditions. Only 17 runners have broken this mark in ten years.
See you all next week at 5pm.
