President sees a Probus Spring

WHAT with one thing and another Moruya Probus committee has been somewhat concerned at a drop in membership over the past year, but at the November committee meeting (held at Moruya Golf Club on Tuesday) president Vince Fisher said he could see signs of a thaw.

Membership officer Di Montgomerie told committee members there were now 61 members, including four life members. The committee was told of at least two more prospective members who could be at the next monthly meeting on November 28. President Vince said it seemed there was an increased interest in joining Moruya Probus, adding that anyone interested would be welcome at the monthly meetings….”without feeling they have any obligation”.

The meeting discussed potential trips and tours, including one to East Africa, another to New Zealand and, closer to home, up the Shoalhaven River and down to Eden…with or without whales.

Moruya Probus meets at Moruya Golf Club at ten-o’clock on the fourth Tuesday of each month.

There are many advantages with being a member of Probus. Apart from meeting new friends, and sometimes some old ones, there are opportunities of being involved in outings. There are discounts for some members with restaurants and hotels and more reasonable travel insurance rates that seniors may otherwise be offered.
