Eden Monaro and Gilmore say YES


Australians have voted 61.6 for ‘Yes’ to 38.4 for ‘No’. The turnout was 12,727,920 people (79.5 per cent) as announced by Australia’s chief statistician David Kalisch at 10am on Wednesday.

Gay couples still won't be able to marry until Parliament passes legislation to enact the reform.

On Tuesday a same-sex marriage bill was backed by a group of cross-party senators and it is anticipated that the bill will be introduced into the Senate on this afternoon with debate to begin on tomorrow. Eden Monaro = 80% of voters chose to have their say YES 64.9% NO 35.1% Gilmore = 80.6% of voters chose to have their say YES 62.0% NO 38%
