Today was a day of celebration in the new Bridge Plaza courtyard. A crowd including Federal MP for Gilmore Ann Sudmalis, Eurobodalla Shire Councillors Innes, Nathan and Pollock, local business people, media, the arts community, and other locals gathered in the newly created courtyard between Clyde St and Bridge Plaza to witness two new permanent sculptures being unveiled.
'Duet' - a new permanent sculpture in the Bridge Plaza courtyard — at Village Centre & Bridge Plaza. 'Duet' is by Nowra artist Dora Rognvaldsdottir and was unveiled today by LGS Portfolio Manager Scott Armstrong. Duet was acquired by Bridge Plaza as part of the very successful ‘Sculpture on Clyde’ exhibition, and along with ‘The Pelicans’ will form part of the newly created Batemans Bay Sculpture Walk. ‘The Pelicans’ was commissioned by the owners of Bridge Plaza to mark the completion of the re-development works and it was created by Tuross Head sculptor Terry Fuller. It was unveiled today by Councillor Liz Innes, Mayor of Eurobodalla Shire.
The life sized standing pelican will in a few weeks time be joined by a mother pelican sitting on her eggs.
