Artisan's Nest is gearing up for Christmas

It is not long until Christmas Day!! Regular visitors already know that the ‘Nest’ is dedicated to showcasing the work of artists and craftspeople in the Eurobodalla. Next year will be its sixth year of operation. The ‘Nest’ continually welcomes new members to the group. Two of the latest arrivals are internationally recognized, award winning, Narooma-based artist, Margaret Moran and resin artist, Natasha Flynn. Please come along and take a look at Margaret’s pastel paintings and Natasha’s paintings, plates and bowls.

Above: In readiness for the summer season aheadArtisans Nest in Bodalla has just enjoyed a makeover, which features new paintwork and a reconfiguration of the pathway from the next door Dairy Shed, which has greatly improved access to the gallery. The new management committee for 2017/18 (above) has been in action, spring cleaning the Nest’s wonderful heritage building and garden and revamping the interior spaces.

Nola Helmore of the group told the Beagle "If you haven’t done your Christmas shopping yet, have a think about whether your Mum, or your Aunt, or even your Sister, might like a unique gift from the Artisans Nest Gallery in Bodalla.

"The ‘Nest’ can offer bags of all types and sizes in everything from coloured fabrics to leather.

Or perhaps your loved ones might like some new clothing in naturally dyed silk?

"If you have a family member who has an interest in the environment, then you might consider something from the range of upmarket, recycled garments.

"Simple scarves in silk and felt might appeal, and, if you are looking for something that you can pass down within your family in the future, come and have a look at the range of jewellery. It comes in all shapes and sizes, from very inexpensive items to the very sophisticated.

"In fact, the ‘Nest’ stocks all kinds of wonderful textile craftwork, including weaving, felting, embroidery and patchwork, in addition to its range of bags, jewellery and paintings.

The group is very much at the forefront of a village bursting with spring energy. If you are a local creative artist, would you like to join this like-minded group of people and sell your creations in Bodalla please contact Sue Jameson on 0408 634 237, or Jan Harding on 0419 260 811.
