Pat the Possum CD Launch Moruya Sat 23rd

POSSUMLY PAT Pat the Possum is a brand new kid’s CD by the Country Pumpkins which will be released outside Moruya Swimming Pool this Saturday morning, 23 Dec, at 10am. The album includes 9 songs written by band member, Michelle Scobie, which tell the story of Pat the Possum, Isabelle Bird, Phil the Frillin’ Frill-Necked Lizard and Lorikeet Sweet.

It is an educational tool based on recycling and care for our bush and native birds and animals with all the costumes, backdrops and even the CD cover itself made from recycled materials. Michelle is a fully qualified teacher and the songs are part of the Pat the Possum Show which made its’ debut in Eden 8 years ago and has since travelled to the Gympie Muster in Queensland, the Tamworth Country Music Festival as well as numerous venues right along the south coast including the 2017 Tilba Festival. The Pat the Possum song, which was featured on the band’s previous CD, Granite Town, in 2009, was a finalist in the Children’s Song Section of the Tamworth Songwriters Association Awards in 2010. Michelle’s husband, Graham, won that same award in 2004 with his song 100 Years Australia. Other band members are Daniel Ostrosko on drums, Mary Couper on vocals, guitar and keyboards and Scott James on vocals, mandolins and guitar.

The CD was recorded in the bush at Richard Cooke’s Sanctuary Sound Studio at Tilba and features live recordings of bush bird noises outside the studio window. So come along to the Moruya Pool this Saturday, meet Pat the Possum, writer Michelle Scobie and the other band members and listen to the band singing and playing the songs from Pat the Possum.
