Sport' in the true sense of the word means an activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others for entertainment. Rodeos are certainly not sport for the animals involved. No animal welfare organisation throughout the world condones rodeos and in fact, in more progressive, compassionate countries, rodeos have been banned completely. It is interesting to note that our council, without proper consultation with the community, feels it's okay to remove our 50 year old pool which has housed real 'sporting' events, yet continues to condone animal cruelty by celebrating 50 years of the so called 'sport' of 'rodeos'. 'When we know better, we do better'. Note to Mayor and Councillors: We know better, now let's do better in 2018 by reflecting the true values of our community. Coral Anderson
